This. Is. It.
The one I have been searching for over six years since my daughter, my first child, was born.
The one that solves all my problems about having to carry things around for two kids and myself and wishing I could fit everything into one bag.
It’s finally been created and I’m so grateful. This has been a huge struggle of mine, as you know from my previous blog, The Identity Crisis That Moms Face and Nobody Talks About: Diaper Bag Distress.
The MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe is the ultimate mom bag. It allows you to keep your personal style and also meets all the needs to literally carry your day in the process. The MZ Wallace Metro Tote Deluxe comes in four sizes ranging from mini to large. This is an enhanced version of the company’s popular Metro Tote line that’s designed to do more and brings innovative features like a luggage sleeve, two exterior slip pockets, two zippered collar pockets and a removable, adjustable crossbody strap. More organization is always something to celebrate and make a mom’s dream come true.
I chose the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe because it provides all the space and organization I need to carry things for myself and two kids. I highly suggest this size bag for any mom of multiple children. It’s really the only bag I can say gives you enough space to carry everything you need for two kids, plus yourself. So many diaper/mom bags on the market only take one child into consideration. But if you have a baby and a toddler, or a toddler and a kindergartener like I do, you need more space. You’re carrying double everything. Luckily, with the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe you won’t feel the weight of it all! It’s super lightweight so you only feel the load of what you’re carrying in your bag. That means a massive reduction in back and shoulder pain that you’ve experienced from your leather bags. After months and months of yearning for this bag, I finally gave in and bought it after my Mina Baie Amelia leather convertible backpack (which I scored on sample sale and thought was my dream bag) became so heavy it set off my shoulder and back issues. I knew it was time to go for the gold. And I won, big time.
Here’s why I love the and suggest every mom get the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe:
The MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe is the ultimate mom bag. It allows you to keep your personal style and also meets all the needs to literally carry your day in the process. But with its soft, washable, REC nylon material, you won’t feel the weight of it all. You can fill this bag to the brim and still be able to carry it on your shoulder and manage your kids. You can also fill it with everything you need and still have room to spare.
This bag is so large, there’s room inside for you to throw a smaller bag for yourself that you can just pull out when you’re going out solo. I go back and forth between using the MZ Wallace Small Metro Backpack as my personal bag and this fits perfectly inside the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe. If I’m not using that, I store all my personal items in an MZ Wallace Metro Pouch (the essential insert for every mom) and throw that in the tote. Sometimes I’ll take that out and use my MZ Wallace Large Sutton in Estate Blue as my personal bag. I also throw in the MZ Wallace Micro Tribecca, which I use to hold my keys and phone. I’ll write a post on it, but I like this little bag because I can just grab it when I’m going for a walk and it fits like an accessory to my outfit when I’m wearing leggings but still need to have my phone on me.
The addition of outside pockets on the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe make me sing with joy. Finally, an easily accessible place for your cell phone. I actually use the outside pockets on my bag to store water bottles. When zippered at the bottom, the luggage sleeve also becomes a useful pocket so between all the outside pockets, I can store about six water bottles for the family. Yes, six! And they’re all on the outside, in a washable material (the whole bag can easily be wiped down) so I’m not worried about any leaks spilling onto my personal items. I can even fit my SLR Cannon Digital Rebel camera in the bag and not worry about it getting wet.
I use the zippered side pockets (I love that this feature was brought over from the MZ Wallace Soho Tote) to store snacks on one side and my books on the other. Hey, I’m an author so I always like to carry around a copy of my new children’s book, Princess Genevieve: The Hero with Girl Power, in case it comes up in conversation! I can keep my book in my bag and not have to worry about it getting smashed up from other objects.
The inside of the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe will make you swoon. So much room! There’s all the signature MZ Wallace inside pockets we love so you can keep your phone, sunglasses, sanitizer, lotion, masks… you name it.
I organize the inside of my back using the 3 detachable bags it comes with and additional MZ Wallace Metro pouches. I store:
-one bag with a change of clothes for both kids
-one bag with diapers and wipes
-one bag with allergy medicine, Tylenol, and Band-aids
-one smaller bag with face masks and disposable gloves (can’t believe I am writing this as an essential to carry around now)
-one bag with all my essentials
And I still have room to throw in toys, hoodies or whatever else I might need!
Here are all the dimensions and features if you judge and compare your bags like me:

The only thing that upsets me about this bag is that it’s sitting in my bedroom. I take it out on occasional drives, but I’m not going anywhere during the pandemic. I can tell you this bag came in super handy during this time though, because we’re selling our house and had to leave hours at time for showings. I had this bag pre-packed and ready to go with all our essentials and simply had to pick up and go. And that’s a goal every mom strives to reach when she leaves the house.
