A story of perspective. I’m recently wasn’t feeling well and Genevieve had an art class that night. I originally canceled and felt bad she was going to miss it. But I just didn’t have the energy to drag two kids back and forth from class when my body was saying I need to lay down and do minimal activity. My friend Courtney offered to pick her up on her way, so G got to attend class.
I felt like I was letting Genevieve down by not driving her as I usually do.
Genevieve ran around the house screaming that it was the happiest day ever because she got to go in a car with her friend.
Courtney pointed out what I felt was a #momfail was actually a #momwin because I didn’t let me being sick get in the way of G going to art class.
G had fun. My friends took pics for me. Luca and I cuddled on the couch and watched a movie.
I also want to point out that I had no anxiety at all about G going there without me!
Lesson Learned from this Story: Sometimes being a good mom means putting your health first so you can be your best for yourself and your kids. It’s ok to ask for help and accept it when offered.
