My Quarantine Reading List

Make the most of your me-time and read one of these!

I’ve been using this period of quarantine to live in the present and focus on gratitude, positivity, and self-care as much as possible. One of the ways I am doing this by scrolling social media less and reading more.

Here are the books I’m currently reading to enrich my soul. Purchase them from your local indie bookstore online if you can! It’s so important to support small business owners with big dreams and help keep their goals going during this pandemic. But if all else fails, I’m sharing the Amazon links! I’m an author and rely on Amazon for the sales of my books Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s and Princess Genevieve: The Hero with Girl Power, too!

How Not To Hate Your Husband After Kids by Jancee Dunn

Wife power!

Dunn is a fellow Jersey girl and music reporter, so I already felt connected to her before I picked up this book. I can’t tell you how many photos I’ve taken of pages in this book and texted to my friends, and yes, even my husband. We can all relate to the changes that happen in marriage after we have kids and Dunn uses humor and personal stories to show that we’re not alone. I also suggested that she write a follow-up called How Not To Hate Your Husband After Quarantine.

Radiant Mommy by Ixiana H. Wilmot

Mommy Power!

Ixiana H. Wilmot had me at hormones. She has a Master’s of Science in Holistic Nutrition and a Health Coaching degree and has extensive research on the role stress and hormones play in motherhood. Radiant Mommy is a guide on how to nourish your mind and body by reclaiming your sleep cycle, so you feel more rested, increasing your energy by establishing better eating habits and eliminating common toxins, and improving your mood with mindfulness practices. It’s like getting expert therapy and coaching from someone who truly understands you, all for the mere price of the paperback.

Untammed by Glennon Doyle

Girl Power to the Max!

Reese Witherspoon and everyone you know probably already told you about this book. I’ll just say that I started reading it and I can’t put it down. If you’re only going to read one book this summer, make it Untammed. I’m not done with it yet, but I already want to start my own book club just to discuss. Also, this is the best, most alluring book cover ever and I’m jealous.

Bad with Money: The Imperfect Art of Getting Your Financial Sh*t Together by Gaby Dunn

Finance Power!

I got this book to educate myself about money and strategies to save. Dunn uses entertaining personal stories to educate you on financial matters and provides great tips. I can’t even tell you how much money I’ve already saved just by deleting my stored credit card info on my phone. I can no longer buy Free People clothes on sale from Nordstrom Rack in one click! I have to actually get up, get my credit card and manually type in my info every time I want to place an order. And I really don’t like getting up when I’m cozy on my couch, so my bank account is reaping the rewards of my laziness.
