I’m 44— Reflections of the Past Year as I REALLY Celebrate My Birthday

Ringing in 44 years!

This past year was one of my hardest. I went through so much healthwise trying to figure out my pain. I remember sitting in an MRI machine getting a brain scan thinking I can’t believe I’m going through this right now. I had the same thoughts in a neurologist office when I was getting my arms electrocuted during a nerve test. During all these times, I had to completely let go & leave it up to the universe. I almost felt like it was an out-of-body experience.

It has literally taken up until last week to finally get cleared of every single health thing that I have been worried about- ultrasounds at different doctors, mammograms & annual appointments, having to redo all of my blood work to see if the toxic mercury did any damage to organs, etc.

I am so relieved to have been able to really celebrate. I’m still dealing with the mercury and that’s going to be a long process. Luckily, I have a doctor who is going to help me with my food allergies and get me on the right track to heal my body in more ways than one. I know this upcoming year is going to be a big journey for me. I hope that it’s transformational.

Some things that really helped me get through the year were watching K-dramas- I really relate to them a lot because so much of K-drama storylines are about healing from trauma and stories of resilience and coming out on the other end with a positive message.

Also K-pop music- it boosts happy chemicals in my brain. There would be days when I was fearing a doctor call, so I would play BTS, #BlackPink and my #kpop bands for 8 hours straight while I work. I would feel unbreakable.

I was really excited to have the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at the Jung Kook Golden Moments exhibit in NYC.

I’m grateful for everyone who has stood by me and listened to me cry or vent this past year (esp sis-in-law). ❤️ I hope that The Best Is Yet To Come!
