What does girl power mean to you? I'd love to include your quote in an upcoming project I'm about to launch inspired by my forthcoming children's book, @princessgenevievebook. More details will be announced soon but first... GIRL POWER! I'm seeking quotes from little girls, moms, working women, goal getters, dads of daughters... anyone who supports my mission of empowering girls to be the hero of their own lives. To participate, send me your name, photo, response (What does girl power mean to you?), and occupation if you can share). For children's responses (and I hope we get some fun ones!) I just need name, age and photo. She is really into photography now and I am loving it. She walks around the house setting up scenes and capturing me in my true form-- vacuuming. However, she tells me, "I'm a writer, I'm scientist, and I'm am artist." ...... Lesson Learned from this Story: Digital cameras for kids make great holiday gifts. This one is about two years old and has games on it. #lessonslearnedfromhellojoelle #holidayshopping #herowithgirlpower
Luca says Lulu is his dog. Lesson Learned from this Story: Adopt a dog and get your kid a best friend. Older dogs are great because they are out of the destructive puppy phase and enjoy cuddles. Also, I washed the stockings an all our names came off, so we have to redo. Don't wash and dry your holiday stockings. #lessonslearnedfromhellojoelle

The kids were fighting a lot tonight so I took away the #magnatiles they were fighting over and brought out the crayons. Lesson Learned from this Story: Luca is working on his Picasso skills. #art #create #siblings #momlife #parentingproblems
Sequel to my previous post. I try to give Genevieve one-on-one time as much as possible. Our new thing is sitting down and sharing @nespresso and cookies. I give her a tiny espresso cup with my decaf foam and we dip the cookies and she tells me about her day at school. And we forget all about the rough hour we had before! Lesson Learned from this Story: When you have more than one child, it's important to share quality solo time with each. .... #momlife #parentingproblems #motherdaughter #raisingdaughters #girlmom #nespresso
Getting real. It's not always all smiles when you have two kids. It's really, really hard. Your older kid is always jealous of the attention the younger one gets. Your heart is always torn in two directions. There's a lot of fighting between them as they learn to share, or refuse to share. And it's not just toys they won't share. It's me. Luca will cry if Genevieve touches my arm. Genevieve will cry if I kiss Luca and not her. She doesn't like when I tell her 'no' to something so then she tells me I don't listen to her. If I tell Luca I am proud of him for something, Genevieve asks why I didn't say I am proud of her. I try mindful parenting and talk to her when she acts out to get to the root of the problem. Instead of time-out, we write I'm sorry letters and talk about what happened (read about that in @princessgenevievebook). And some nights, like tonight, there's just hours of emotions on all ends. But those moments only last a few hours and you just gotta get though it! Because soon the kids snap out of their moods and are ready share dessert with you and you can finally stop yelling and feeling guilty. Lesson Learned from this Story: All moms are heros. Especially single moms. Or moms with multiple kids. And moms who have husbands or partners that travel for weeks at a time. And we are not alone! And sometimes you just need to share that as perfect as all your social media pictures look, your house is just as wild as the next! Also, I need a #momcoach! #momlife #parentingproblems #mommy #mom #momguilt #parenthood #parenting #truth #lifelifessonsaccordingtohellojoelle #mindfulness #childrensbook
